Our CMS Foodbank Needs Help
A Message From The Foodbank President, Terry Eden
Once again, it is the time of year when we at The CMS Food Bank look to the community for help in supporting our clients in the Cobble Hill, Mill Bay and Shawnigan Lake area.
Not surprising this year, due to COVID-19, the CMS Food Bank’s annual Christmas Toy drive will be distributing gift cards instead of Christmas gift bags to those children in need this Holiday Season.
We are hoping that you can help by donating cash or personal hygiene items for our adult gift bags
This year the number of people in need will be great and we very much appreciate your assistance over the years and would gratefully receive whatever amount you are able to give to the CMS Food Bank this year.
We thank you for your generous help as you have done before in the past Toys,Toilette and toques which this year will be going virtual looking for cash donations to turn this into gift cards for the 5 food banks.
The Malahat Legion is Helping
The CMS Food bank in Mill Bay is asking the Legion to collect personal hygiene items such as:
- all kinds of soaps, bath and body care items;
- shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, floss etc.
- Cash Donations
Foodbank staff will use these to make goodie bags up for each food hampers for Christmas.
October is Drop-off Month
During the month of October the Legion will be available for drop off for these items. You can drop them off at our front door or in with your bottle and cans returns that we have near our backyard near the blue bottle bin.
We are open on every Saturday from 1 to 6 pm if that is easier. Our YSAG busy hands group will making scarfs, mittens and toques. YSAG Quilting group will be making masks.
Anything you can donate will make this a very special Christmas for these families.
