Remembering Wanda Wetteland

The Legion Hall was filled to capacity for the Celebration of Life honoring Wanda Wetteland. As shown in the adjacent photo, every seat was taken by family and friends around 1:30 PM, with additional chairs brought in from the games room and temporary folding chairs arranged wherever there was space.

Who Was Wanda Wetteland?

Many of you may remember Wanda from her recent involvement at the Malahat Legion in Shawnigan Lake. Whether you visited our flea markets or Christmas markets, you likely enjoyed one of her delicious muffins. The pickled eggs and jars of pickles on the bar were also her creations. Wanda was often found at the back table near the kitchen, keeping track of your meat draw tickets when you couldn’t be there. And who could forget her joyful dance as she picked out her prize whenever her ticket was drawn?
