Mill Bay Marine Search and Rescue Society Receives $500 Cheque

COVID-19 has made presenting cheques from our Gaming Account.extraordinarily difficult.  Normally these are handed out at a Sunday Legion General Meeting.   Because of COVID-19 Social Distancing Rules, Legion President, Isabelle Hammer, found a way around this.  She took time to do this with a grin on our Saturday, June 6th, 2020 bottle drive.   Jeff Zwaan from the Mill Bay Marine Search and Rescue Society dropped in to help us out. Luckily we had the cheque already made out.

Donations for worthwhile Community organizations like the Mill Bay Marine Search and Rescue are required by the Gaming commission. Legion rules also require disbursements to be voted on at one of our monthly General Meetings.  Luckily this was already passed at a February General Meeting before COVID-19 struck British Columbia.
