Sorry, January General Meeting Cancelled

|
With sadness, the Legion is letting our membership know that our Secretary, Wanda Wetteland, passed away over the weekend.
|
Wanda faithfully served as our Secretary for the past three years and also as our Sick and Visiting Chair during that time. She lived in Victoria and often volunteered to pick up groceries from Costco and other wholesalers in the area, quietly keeping our shelves and kitchen supplied.
|
|
If you bought a pickled egg or one of the pickle jars lined up at the bar while you waited for your refreshment, those were Wanda’s contributions as well. While they brought in revenue, they were really an expression of her love of cooking.
|
|
|
|
The muffins you enjoyed at our Christmas Market event and flea markets were hers too. She won a Cowichan Valley baking award for her baking. Wanda will be sorely missed by all our members.
|
While we look for a replacement for the Secretary position, both the January Executive and General Meetings are cancelled. Installations and the election of a replacement Secretary (if a willing candidate is found) will take place at the February General Meeting.

We will share details of any funeral or memorial arrangements as soon as they are known.
