Thank You Poppy Stuffing Volunteers
|
|
|
- Thanks to all the Poppy Stuffing volunteers that came out to help stuff about 6,000 envelopes with two poppys to help us with our mailout campaigne.
- Our apologies to those who arrived on the announced start time to find everything was already done. We will endevour to keep to the published lunch and stuffing schedule next year.

Thursday, October 24th - Veterans Dinner
|
|
|
- Veteran's dinner list is almost full for almost 80 dinners. Email reservations did go out to veterans the Malahat Legion has emails for and were quicky filled.
- We are all set to serve a delicious hot roast beef dinner prepared by the Farmer's Institute.

|
|
|
October 25th - Poppy Taggers Needed
|
|
|
|
Volunteers are essential for canvassing at various business locations around Mill Bay and Valleyview. If you can spare a couple of hour to make poppys available at local businesses please sign up. The signup sheet is just inside the entrance to the Legion at 1625 Shawnigan-Mill Bay road.

Monday, November 11th - Remembrance Day 2024
|
|
|
Schedule of events are as follows:
|
- 10 AM service at the Cobble Hill Community centre with pastor John Steele.
- 10:30 AM colour party marches to the Cobble Hill cenotaph for the Remembrance Day ceremony.
- 11 AM - Remembrance Day act at the Cobble Hill Cenotaph.

Sunday, November 17th - We are open for 2024 Grey Cup
|
|
|
- The 111th Grey Cup will be played to decide the Canadian Football League championship for the 2024 season.
- We are open. Watch the game on our large screen TV.
- Kitchen open for snacks.

|
|
|
|
Sunday, November 24th - 2024 Christmas Market
|
|
|
- We will have a video out of some of the items you will find at the Christmas Market.
- We have 20 registered vendors with lots of gift ideas for you.
- Coffee and muffins will be available.
- Time - 10 AM to 3 PM

Friday, November 29th - Kitchen Party & Tom Morrissey
|
|
|
- Get ready for a night of foot-stompin' fun at our Newfie Kitchen Party featuring Tom Morrissey and Ian Todd!
- Kitchen open with regular menu.
- Feature dish: Lasagna, salad, garlic bread.
- Member pricing available for member plus any guest member or not.

Rememberance Day Veteran Flag Bearers needed
|
|
|
- On Rememberance Day, we need Veterans to carry flags in the hall and on the short march from the Cobble Hill Hall to the Cenotaph.
- Interested? Please be at the Cobble Hill Hall at 10:15 AM. Ask for the Sargent at arms Dwight Grieve.
